    I am an aeronautical engineer with relevant experience in Airport Planning and Projects Coordination, Project Management and, currently, in the field of Airport Planning and ORAT Management. I have developed my career in an international environment, having worked in several projects in Spain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. I am adept at managing stakeholder relationships, possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, consistently building and maintaining positive internal and external working partnerships. I enjoy leading, managing and motivating a productive team and thrive in highly challenging and pressurised environments.

  • Who am I?

    As an Aeronautical Engineer specialized in Airport Infrastructures, I have more than 15 years of comprehensive experience in the field of airport consultancy and engineering, embracing all areas of expertise such as: planning, design, construction, business, Airport Operations and ORAT. I am a multifaceted analyst, with in-depth knowledge of the interrelationships between airport infrastructure development, management and operations including interfaces with other transport modes. I have capacity to lead teams of highly qualified experts in an ambitious and motivating way, achieving challenging and innovative solutions for airport projects.
    I hold an M.Sc. in Airports Engineering (2009) and a B.Sc. in Superior Aeronautical Engineering (2007) from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

    Middle East experience

    I have participated in a wide range of professional studies and projects related to airport development and operations including airport activation, master planning, air traffic forecasting, functional design, computer-aided capacity simulation, etc. From joining Ineco in 2007, I gained experience on projects that cover a number of major airports around the world, involving many contracts around the GCC countries. I am also an expert user of Primavera Project Planner and Presto software as well as other airport planning special software. With my recent incorporation to the AERTEC Solutions team, I have had the chance to lead a wide range of projects across all Middle East.

This was achieved by building and finding the synergies between the industry trends and what solutions the company is offering.     As Project Director of all the Midlle East projects, I was the responsible for overall management of the projects including liaising with the donor; coordinating and leading partners; supervising members of the project team; and overseeing projects implementation, financial and administrative oversight, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation of the project.

    For most of the key Midlle East projects, I was the responsible for planning and overseeing them to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. I planned and designated project resources, prepared budgets, monitored progress, and kept stakeholders and head-office informed the entire way.

    Over the last 15 years I have been part of the teams involved in Project Management Consultancy, Planning & Design and ORAT business located in the Middle East. I was part of the team for the Project Management Services for Implementing the 2005 Master Plan Projects at Kuwait International Airport. In Abu Dhabi I was part of the interdisciplinary team in charge of developing the Concept of Operations for the new Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal Complex, before I eventually joined the ORAT Project upon specific request from the client, Abu Dhabi Airports Company. In addition to this, I provided support to the new Ciudad de Mexico International Airport Project Management Agent regarding the Construction Schedule, ORAT process and project implementation and procedures.

    Detail Design Services for Amaala Airport Airfield Infraestructure

    Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

    AMAALA, the ultra-luxury destination located along Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coast, has unveiled plans for a new international airport, with a design inspired by the optical illusion of a desert mirage.

    The Airfield is designed to be the key transportation hub for the whole AMAALA Development. Taking inspiration from its dramatic desert environment, the airport will welcome all incoming and outgoing guests travelling by plane. The airport will reflect AMAALA’s ultra-luxury hospitality spirit, providing an exclusive private-club experience perfectly encapsulating AMAALA’s pillars of art and culture; wellness and sport; and sea, sun, and lifestyle. The project includes climate control hangers for private aircrafts, a number of lounges and conference rooms. Additionally, there is a broad spectre of auxiliary buildings which will allow top of the class services to be provided.

    Future Abu Dhabi International Terminal

    Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal Complex ORAT

    The construction of the Midfield Terminal Complex (MTC), the new gateway to Abu Dhabi, is currently ongoing in order to accommodate the anticipated 35 million annual passengers by 2018.

    During this phase, Abu Dhabi International Airport’s current focus is the development of the infrastructure network including roads, utilities and delivering the Capacity Enhancement Programme (CEP), the scope of which includes upgrading works to our existing terminals to accommodate the rapidly increasing passenger demand and enhance the customer experience before the MTC is completed.

    Project Management Services for Kuwait International Airport

    Kuwait

    Kuwaiti Government has set up an investment plan for expanding and modernising the airport, which includes building a new passenger terminal, a third runway and expansion and refurbishment of the two existing runways, a second control tower, taxiways, various platforms and a new administrative building for the aeronautical authority, in addition to a programme of projects for air navigation and communications facilities.

    Project Management Services for Ciudad de Mexico International Airport

    Mexico

    The project is being developed by Mexico's Secretariat of Communications and Transport (SCT) as part of the transport development plan announced by Mexican President, who allocated $9.2bn for the construction of new airport. It is one of the world's biggest airport infrastructure projects and is expected to be the biggest airport in Latin America.

    The new airport will have an initial capacity to handle 50 million passengers a year, which will be increased to 120 million annually through a planned expansion.

    •  Responsible for the overall Project Controls activities setting objectives for the project controls team, enabling processes and procedures. Establishing with the client deliverables, based on the revised baseline programme.
    • Responsible for developing and updating the ORAT Master Schedule. Identification of the MTC projects status and progress accomplishment in coordination with stakeholders involved acting as key relation between all parties. 
    • Monitor the key tasks for the successful execution of the ORAT program and possible risks and constraints which may affect the implementation of those tasks or flow from those tasks.
    • Formulation and implementation of the major ORAT goals and initiatives taken by the client top management.
    • Developed high level Schedule for all trials including recruitment of volunteers and provision of any temporary facilites and services that may be required.
